Alexandria Waterfront Wedding Reception at Virtue Feed & Grain | Steph + Steven

You know when you meet someone who has the same energy as you and you instantly click? Within moments of meeting Steph for her initial consultation to talk about her big day, I knew I wanted to be her photographer and friend. She is down-to-earth, genuine, positive, and organized. We chatted like old friends and she told me all about her elopement and desire to have photos at her Alexandria Waterfront Wedding Reception. I couldn't wait to capture such a special day for her and Steven at Virtue Feed & Grain.
Their love story isn't like most, which is what made the whole experience even more unique and fun. Similar to what my fiancé and I are planning to do this fall, Steph and Steven had an intimate elopement instead of a large wedding. They still wanted to celebrate with their families, so they rented out The Clipper Room at Virtue Feed and Grain. I had never been to this restaurant before, but I was blown away by the modern American tavern aesthetic.
The large windows allowed natural light to enter the room. Guests and their laughter filled the air, along with the smell of a carefully crafted dinner. There wasn't a sight of boredom or ingenuity. Everyone was so happy to be together celebrating Steph and Steven's union. Although most of the portraits were taken on the waterfront before dinner was served, there were plenty of fun moments captured inside Virtue Feed and Grain. Although I only spent a couple of hours with them, it was easy to tell that Steph and Steven are blessed with amazing families and friends that love them dearly.
Dear Steph and Steven,
I had so much fun hanging out with you and am honored that you trusted me to capture such a special moment in your life! Steph, you looked stunning in your blue dress, but your beautiful smile lit up the room. You and Steven are so great together, and I know you'll have a happy marriage. Congratulations once again!!
