Rachel and Jose's guests listened intently during the toasts at their Cancun Destination Wedding at Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa. But one moment, in particular, captivated everyone's attention. Sarah, Rachel's sister and maid of honor revealed a secret about the origin of Rachel and Jose's relationship. The quiet and intrigued reception area roared with laughter as the story unfolded and photos were shared.
Rachel and Jose met on July 11, 2020, at the pool of their apartment building. "What you don't know, Jose is that she actually had her eyes on you about a week before," Sarah said.
On July 5th, to be exact, Rachel was looking out her window, which overlooked the pool, and saw a cute guy. She told Sarah to come look, and they took some pictures so they could get a better look. Who would have thought those photos would debut at their wedding almost two years later?
Rachel and Jose's entire wedding day was filled with laughter and tears of joy. After sharing a first look with her dad, Rachel headed to another area of the Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa resort to meet with Jose, although they wouldn't be seeing each other. With their backs against each other surrounded by beautiful greenery, Rachel and Jose shared letters they had written.
Soon after, they stood across from each other and exchanged vows at the altar. Tears filled both their eyes, along with their guests. "I can't believe I'm the one who gets to marry you," Jose told Rachel. With the ocean as a backdrop and their closest friends and family present to share the moment, the bride and groom became wife and husband. It was a perfect day that none of us will ever forget.
