Lake Fairfax Park Family Session | Reston, Virginia | Cash Family

When the Cash family arrived at Lake Fairfax Park for their sunrise family session, they looked like they belonged on a magazine cover. I was over the moon when I realized how well they followed my style guide! I was also pleasantly surprised at how bright-eyed and upbeat they all were at 6 a.m. Sunrise sessions are not for the faint of heart, and the Cash family owned it. They were happy and ready to go.
Nicole and Kirby are the most down to earth high school sweethearts you'll ever meet. They got to experience something not a lot of people do: marrying your best friend at a young age. They both grew up in Loudoun County and plan to stay settled there for the long term. Once their firstborn Katherine (Katie) was born, they knew they wanted a second. Almost exactly two years later, Avery was born. She missed her big sister's birthday by only two weeks! Now, Nicole and Kirby are enjoying having two under 3, and every day is an adventure.
We had Lake Fairfax Park to ourselves. It was quiet, and a light fog covered the lake. It felt serene, which is the exact environment I look for when taking photos of young families. Kids tend to get distracted easily, but Katie and Avery did an amazing job. The first 30 minutes were unbelievable. The girls not only cooperated, but they smiled and really enjoyed taking photos!
Whenever one needed a few minutes to recompose, I did some breakouts. That means I captured photos of each parent with each child, which always ends up being one of my favorite parts of the session. Although a family is a whole unit, each relationship is unique and tells a different story.
Dear Cash family,
You are truly one of a kind! I loved spending time with you at Lake Fairfax Park and capturing these special moments for you. Your family is sweet, kind and so fun! Keep enjoying this amazing stage in life. Soon, the girls will be in middle school and you'll wonder where the time went. Soak in every hug, cuddle, cry, and laugh. I look forward to capturing more milestones for your family and watching you all grow together!
