Lincoln Memorial Family Session | Washington D.C. | Hall Family

Tracy and David both looked at their 9-month-old son John David with such pride and love. He is their first baby, but you wouldn't have guessed that. They are only 9 months into parenting, but they seem to have nailed it down. Tracy is proactive in her son's education and has been studying Montessori for months. She incorporates those fundamentals into her parenting and it shows. David might be the "strict" parent, but he also seems like the fun and goofy one. He loved holding John David in the air and playing airplane with him. Tracy, on the other hand, loved cuddling and nuzzling John David's little face. It was absolutely amazing capturing them each in their own parenting element.

Washington D.C. was relatively empty that Sunday fall evening. Before the pandemic, the memorials would be buzzing with tourists. That day, however, we managed to capture plenty of photos without having to wait for anyone to move. The sun was starting to set and the backside of the monument was glowing orange.

Tracy, David, and John David coordinated their outfits so well, and I couldn't stop smiling every time I looked at the back of my camera. And did I mention why this family session is so special to me? I had the honor of capturing Tracy and David's maternity photos last fall. It turned out to be one of my favorite sessions of the year, and not just because we were at the National Arboretum. Tracy and David have such magical chemistry, and I loved capturing it again, but this time with their beautiful son.

Dear Tracy and David,

I can't thank you enough for trusting me with your family portraits. You both are so easy going, and I always appreciate the effort you put into sessions as well as the trust you place in my skillset. I hope these photos are everything you hoped they would be! I am so excited to watch John David grow, and I can't wait to capture more special memories for you. He is extremely blessed to call you his parents. Your godly example will take him far in life!
