National Arboretum Wedding | Washington D.C. | Jo C. & Adam

A "perfect" wedding day means different things to different people. For Jo C., it meant having her day go exactly according to plan. She spent hours organizing all of her vendor information and designing the perfect timeline. Prior to her wedding day at the National Arboretum in Washington D.C., I had warned her that timelines almost always get adjusted the day of. To my surprise, Jo C. and Adam's day happened exactly the way we all planned it to. It was just one of the signs of a perfect day.

The sun shone brightly all afternoon and created the perfect light for Jo C. and Adam's first look. Adam was cool and collected, but I could tell he was anxious to see his bride. His facial expression upon laying eyes on his best friend and wife-to-be was a reflection of how excited he was to marry her and spend the rest of his life with his forever partner.

Jo C. and Adam's National Arboretum wedding was stunning, elegant, and timeless. The florals and decorations were all muted hues and blended perfectly with the backdrop of the Herb Garden at the arboretum. There was a light breeze that kept everyone cool on one of the last days of summer. It was as magical as I'm sure Jo C. dreamed it would be.

A few dozen guests gathered together to celebrate the happy couple. But despite being surrounded by family and friends, Jo C. and Adam acknowledged the absence of two very important people - their mothers. Among the many things they share, the loss of their mothers is a mutual experience that they decided to commemorate at their wedding. Two chairs were set aside for their matriarchs and decorated with flowers and photos. It was a beautiful dedication that honored their mothers and the impact they had on their lives.

Dear Jo C. and Adam,

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have captured your wedding at the National Arboretum. Your day was truly so perfect, and I'm still feeling so blessed to have been there. You are both so kind and genuine, and I loved getting to know you and spending that day by your side. Jo C., your organizational skills and thoughtfulness are unmatched. Adam, your humor and fun nature are so infectious. Thank you both for trusting me with such an important day. I hope to see you both again soon and hear all about how you're enjoying your marriage!
