Sugarloaf Mountain Elopement | Urbana, Maryland | Gloria + Bryan

Gloria and Bryan gazed into each other's eyes as they exchanged vows at Sugarloaf Mountain during their elopement. Gloria was smiling ear to ear and kept laughing every time she messed a word up. Pretty soon, we were all laughing. And in that moment of pure joy and bliss, everything was as it should be. No one was thinking about the plans Gloria and Bryan had before the pandemic, and no one wished it was any other way. It was a perfect sunset elopement.

A few hours before, things...got interesting. I called Sugarloaf Mountain to make sure we were set, but they told me they planned to close the entrance at 6 p.m., which is the time we planned to start the ceremony. I quickly researched some alternative locations and called Gloria and Bryan with three different options to choose from. We decided to move up the timeline and stick with Sugarloaf Mountain as the location - and I am SO happy we did.

When I met Gloria during her initial consultation, I instantly felt at ease with her. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend! She told me all about her dogs Goose and Kirby, and I even got to meet them! She also told me about how she and Bryan first met and that she's the loud, outgoing one, while he's a little shyer. Although, he'll be goofy with her if no one else is around, which I love! And when she told me her plans for a mountaintop elopement, I just about screamed (internally).

It has always been my dream to photograph a mountaintop elopement or engagement session! It's incredibly romantic and the views are spectacular. If you would have told me two years ago that I'd be capturing a mountaintop elopement for an amazing, adventurous couple, I'm not sure I would have believed you. I was fully confident I could capture beautiful images, but I honestly teared up when I reviewed the photos straight out of camera. I felt like I was dreaming. Did I really take these photos?!

Dear Gloria and Bryan,

I had an amazing time capturing the moment you got married. You are both such incredible and successful human beings, and I am honored to have been part of your big day! Gloria, your smile and laugh are so contagious, and I had so much fun capturing each giggle on camera! Bryan, I can tell you bring balance and peace into Gloria's life and I know she'll treasure you forever. I also believe you'll value and cherish every day with Gloria. I wish you both so much joy and happiness as you start this new stage in life. I look forward to capturing more special moments for you as you navigate this beautiful life together!
